I am a huge fan of Yves Klein (YK) work in blue. As Sidra Sitch noted in her book "Yves Klein," "YK is one of the most extraordinary and influential figures in post-war avant-grade art." YK was a leading member of the French artistic movement called Nouveau réalisme.
In his work with blue, YK sought to achieve what he called "static velocity."
Yves Klein was born in Nice in 1928, to Fred and Marie Klein. Fred Klein and Marie Raymond, were both painters. His father painted in a Post-impressionist style, while his mother was a leading figure in Art informel.
YK died at the early age of 34, and living with us many great work prominent among them is the IKB - International Klein Blue.
